YOU AND I ARE EVERYTHING I AM NOT

I wish I had gotten into Crime in Stereo sooner.  This year’s I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone turned out to be their last and final album following the announcement of their disbandment back in August.  It’s a shame — the Long Island five-piece truly embodied the post-hardcore ethic, staying true to their underground punk roots while accepting an evolution towards a darker, melodic sound.  The band recently released a video for “I Am Everything I Am Not,” an introspective collection of tour footage from this year.  Savor this, because unless you’re one of the lucky few who’ll be around for their final Northeast shows, it’s the last you’re going to get.  Crime in Stereo is dead.  May they rest in peace.  I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone is out now on Bridge Nine.
