SUN’S GOING DOWN LET’S GET TOGETHER

Matt & Kim are at it again folks, and we’re all in for a treat. The Brooklyn duo are pretty universally well-loved for their uniquely catchy anthemic pop music, from “Daylight” to “Yeah Yeah” to, well, just about anything they’ve ever made. Their newest single, “Cameras,” fits right in with the rest. Quirky, danceable, and, as always, immensely fun, the new song is just what we’ve come to expect from the band without sounding like they aren’t trying. They’re trying, and it sounds pretty damn awesome.

Matt & Kim, Diplo, Major Lazer @ Rock’n’Roll Hotel

Guest blogger and former college roommate Josh Walker attended the Matt & Kim, Diplo, and Major Lazer show at Rock’n’Roll Hotel last Saturday. He was kind enough to give us some insight into what exactly went down:

Diplo and Major Lazer put on an epic set at the Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C. on Saturday. 500 or so party goers cramed into the intimate venue to hear all three artists spin sets well into the night. While I regrettably missed the Matt & Kim set, I arrived just in time to see Diplo and Major Lazer take the stage together. The two spun mind-numbing and irresistably danceable beats while scantily-clad dancers put on a show fit for a strip club. The night redefined what constitutes a true dance party. Well done Bacardi for putting this show together.

Sit Back and Wave through the Daylight – ATG Returns

It’s been pretty desolate ’round these here parts for the last few weeks. To be fair, Adrian’s graduation and my return from the most exciting six months of my life have kept us quite busy, and not too focused on contributing around here. That needs to change, for your sake and, moreso, for my own. This blog has slowly seen its activity dwindle, yet our blog tracker shows that you all still check in every day, hoping that we’ve awoken from a much-needed slumber to deliver our own brand of music journalism. I am embarrassed with the lack of writing here, and am ready to make some serious changes. Over the coming weeks, we will be remodeling the site in order to better serve the readers, and to trumpet our return as a serious active outlet for new and exciting music. We want you to be more active in the process, so if you have a band or musician you’d like to have heard, email us at allthingsgoblog@gmail.com and we’ll publish your posts. In addition, we would love to see improved feedback through our comments section (50% of our recent comments are “enjoy viagra penis viagra oxycontin” which, while exciting, isn’t necessarily relevant).

I know that you have heard all of this before, and are not setting your expectations high. That is fair and we deserve that, and we are ready and willing to win you all back.
