By now, most all of you are aware that Julian Casablancas is set to release his debut solo album, Phrazes for the Young, in the U.S. on November 3rd. Likewise, all of you know that Julian Casablancas is the lead singer of The Strokes. What you may not know, however, is that upon listening to his first single “11th Dimension”, I promptly had to change my underwear. That’s how good Julian Casablancas is. I proudly peed my pants, and have been drinking lots and lots of Gatorade ever since to build up some ammunition for when the album drops.
Pee jokes aside, the album has built quite a bit of buzz, and is set to be the most successful and entertaining Strokes solo album yet (apologies to Albert Hammond Jr., Fab Moretti’s Little Joy, and Nikolai Fraiture’s Nickel Eye). Grab yourself a diaper and pump the jam.

and cac have you no recognition of the classical elements of this tune? The sheer poppiness, mixed with flourishing elements seemingly pulling the tune in four, sometimes even five, different directions, but always employing the necessary forward propulsion to keep its listeners amused?
