The Dodos Get Ready for SXSW, Give us “Jody”

I mentioned the San Francisco duo The Dodos a few weeks back, giving you a taste of the band in the form of “Fools”. Since then, the band has signed on to Frenchkiss Records (Les Savy Fav’s label), booked a whole tour, including a few SXSW appearances, and have released their second single, “Jody’. “Jody” isn’t quite as catchy or hype-inducing as “Fools”, but is enough to get me super-excited for the March 18th release of Visiter. Guitarist/Singer Meric Long balances his guitar melody with his voice eloquently, and the just-faster-than-you’re-comfortable-with drum pace is enough to get the blood flowing and the blogosphere spinning out of control. Can you hear that? That’s the sound of a band about to explode on to the scene.
