Ane Brun

Ane Brun had a lot of success with her release in May of this year with the extended version of ‘A Temporary Drive.’ She has an album ‘Duets’ out for everyone to purchase. As the title would suggest, the album is simply duets with a number of artists. I was unfamiliar with many of the artists she performed with on this album, but a few I knew included Syd Matters and Ron Sexmith. Other artists include Madrugada, Liv Widwell, and Tobias Froberg. Hands down, the best song I’ve heard on the record is “Love and Misery” which is a duet of Ane Brune and Tobias Froberg. It’s flawless and beautiful.

Ane Brun is from Norway, but since 2000 has lived in Sweden, where she runs her label DetErMine Records.

considering you didn’t bother to mention anything about the actual quality of the album, besides the “flawless and beautiful” duet b/w her and tobias froberg, whatever the hell that means, what exactly does ane brun sound like? does she have any other albums? what musicians would you compare her to? for those of us who know little or next to nothing about her, it would be nice if you could actually write something informative and worthwhile

Hey I’m a frequent reader of all things go and love it. I especially love your mixtapes in particular the sleep mix. Lately I’ve been having a hankering for some good fall music to go with the weather. I was wondering if your planning on making one and if not could you?

    for sure nicole. for sure.

uh, anonymous person. if you want to know all those things, why don’t you just listen to the damn songs and not insult someone who’s tryin to introduce you to music!

Ok, I’m actually with anonymous on this one. The problem here is that Samantha doesn’t give us anything that we couldn’t find out from looking at the back cover. The whole point (at least what I’ve found) of this blog is to give an opinion. Or at the very least, a specific direction for someone to go in when looking for new music. Posts such as this are the equivalent of walking into Best Buy and choosing any album at random and reading the song listings. Describing something as “flawless and beautiful” doesn’t serve to inform anyone….of anything…. I may watch some German Sheiza vids and think that some dude crapping into a chick’s mouth is flawless and beautiful, but I’m pretty sure that taste (pun definitely intended) in film isn’t for everyone. Also, the name of Ane’s previous album is “A Temporary Dive” not “drive” in a single paragraph about a single album, the least the author could do is get her friggin subject matter right. If you actually want to know something about this artist, there was a good write up in Time:,9171,1189226,00.html
Thanks Samantha, for finding an artist that was already written about (much more successfully) in an internationally accredited magazine.
