Hello, my name is Alex, and I am one of the writers for this blog. I have what is deemed as the “worst” taste in music between the five of us. I enjoy punk and indie rock along with some ska. It was my idea that all five of us make a mix for these first entries. I hope you like mine, and also hope that all articles I write in the future are far more eloquent than this one. On to that mix!

1. The Blue Meanies – The 4th of July
This is going to seem totally bizarre, but I am the only person I know who actually likes The Blue Meanies. But seriously don’t let this first track be a turn off, the other 9 are actually really good.
2. Atom & His Package – Upside Down from Here
I think this is arguably one of the cutest songs in existence.
3. Murder by Death – A Master in Reverse Psychology
I don’t really know how to describe this band or song in terms of a genre of music. Let me simply say they are incredible.
4. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Over and Over Again (Lost and Found)
I love these guys, Zack hates them. I really don’t know what that was supposed to tell you about this song and band.
5. The Weakerthans – Without Mythologies
They are what I think is the best band in the great north (Canada).
6. Bomb the Music Industry! – Pike St. – Park Slope (by Harvey Danger)
BtMI is formed from some of the finest musicians in the north east coast ska/punk scene. This is a rare example of a cover being far superior to the original.
7. Selby Tigers – Superbreakout!
A quick little punk/indie rock ditty. This is a dancing song that makes me wish I could actually dance.
Straight up 80s style punk and rock’n’roll.
Another one of my all time favorite bands. They play punk rock in the vain of Fifteen, Crimpshrine, Jawbreaker, and Tricky Dick.
A nice relaxing song to go out on. I hope you all enjoyed this.

I am a big fan of Murder by Death, and perhaps an even bigger fan of The Weakerthans. So, you know… I like thoes choices.

the broadways are still making music?
I am probably getting back to this late, but no The Broadways stopped making music. The members went off to form other bands, so check out The Honor System, The Lawrence Arms, and The Falcon.
